Letter from the Chairman to the Party

Editor’s Note: Information about our precinct and county conventions can be found here:  http://mclennanrepublicans.org/convention-info or click “CONVENTION INFO” on the menu bar.

Some of us are joyous with the election results while some are disappointed.  In any contest, whether a political race or a sporting event, there is a winner and one or more also-rans.  The Republican voters, and likely even some crossover Democrat voters, spoke with their ballot and we accept the result.  At this point what must be done is for the Party to set aside anything that would cause division among us and move on to victory in November.  It is more important to maintain our conservative majority in our county, if not to completely dominate the courthouse, than to be divided.  As the adage says, “United we stand, divided we fall.”  We have much to do to keep our county and state red, so let’s keep our eyes on the ball – Victory in November!

On another point, we have had several calls at the Headquarters asking about where the precinct conventions would be held after the close of the polling locations.  For three iterations we have not had that procedure in place.  Some people just don’t get the word.  As a reminder, the precinct and county conventions will be held March 24, 2018 at the TSTC Connally Building.  Precinct conventions start at 9 a.m. and the county convention will begin at 1 p.m.  Please spread the word, and I’ll see you there!
